H A B I T A T is a collaboration between writer Winona León and Kayla Clark.
Over the course of many conversations, Winona and Kayla reflected on habitats, homes, cities and towns of their past. This prompted written work that were adapted, designed and printed by Kayla. Kayla chose materials and a foldable form based on the act of moving. Folding, packing, unfolding/unpacking and discovering treasures. This piece tours several gallery and public spaces across Wyoming before it will be added to the UW Art Museum’s permanent collection.
Special thanks to Jennifer Rife (Laramie County Library System) and curator Mark Ritchie (UWYO Printmaking).

Time merely blinks.
I flee to the mountains.

I am inundated by warnings.
Tonight, anyone will tell you their name.

For what I left behind.
